Easter Sunday

A quiet Easter Sunday Easter Hunt

(notice the wood where Ashton is finding his egg? Troy created a sandbox under our deck. Can't wait to fill it with sand!)

Flying the kite Ashton got from the Easter bunny.

Seneka's first time taking a ride in Ashton's set of wheels. She was ecstatic and kept bouncing up and down and dancing (with her arms). Ashton played her some tunes on his radio (part of the car). They really are becoming the best of friends....it is the best to watch them together.

I pulled out the china for my first time since getting it (almost 8 years ago!) for Easter Sunday dinner. I was proud of my table setting - so i decided to post it! Last minute my parents came to have dinner with us. It was a great Easter Sunday. We really tried to teach Ashton and focus this year on the real reason we celebrate Easter... for the first time - i think he got it.

What a beautiful Easter Sunday it was! Blue skies and birds chirping. It was refreshing.

Easter Hunt at Omi and Omipapas

We spent the Eve of Easter at Grandma and Grandpa Scotts. We had a yummy dinner and the kids all got to search for their own easter "bucket" full of goodies. It seemed it had been a while since we were all together - so it was great to have some family time...especially for the cousins to all play together. I love all my neices and nephews. We had a wonderful night!

Playing school with their new notebooks...

Silly grandpa telling stories...

CELEBRATING Easter at Riverton Park

That's my girl! Two hands just aren't enough sometimes...

We ran into our friends and Ashton was able to look for his eggs with his buddy's Gage and Boe.

Of course it started to rain right when it was all to start... but rain never stopped us from finding some candy and toys! The kids endured the wetness and brought home lots of candy.

Britney Spears...ooooh yeah, you know it!

So, my cute friend Katie asked me if i wanted to go to the Britney Spears concert with her. I've always liked Britney's music and I seriously have not been to a concert in 10+ years and I am envious of all of Katie's blog posts of her "girl's nights" (which i don't have frequently enough) and I rarely get to spend time with Katie and so i gave in and happily agreed to go and be a teeny bopper again and see some BRITNEY!! OH YEAHHHH!!! Seriously, i felt like i was in middle school or something! The crowd was definitely colorful, to say the least.

I knew it was a bit of a wild card to go to this concert b/c who knew what it would be like...b/c of Britney's up and down past and the latest with her "come back" on some music awards show a year or so ago---that was a complete bomb and that really was embarrassing for her. But I thought - what the heck?! It will be some girl fun for a change!

Anyway, in a nutshell i wasn't very impressed. I felt like she has succumbed to using pure sex appeal to please her audience. It was almost over-the-top. She really didn't dance much, except to do an occasional pelvic thrust. It really made me sad to realize she has plummeted to this.
She was lip-syncing the entire time except for one song that she sang. The concert was very choppy and she had random people come out and do little skits/songs in between all her songs... which became very distracting.
Oh- and i forgot the best. The area we were sitting in was kind of separate from the rest of the seating and it wreaked of urine. We all kept getting these whiffs of it and had to plug our noses. It reminded me of the elevators in NYC (where the homeless people sleep inside and pee to their hearts content and it sits there day after day and rots). SICK!!!!!!!!!
Anyway- sorry i am such a critic...i just can't help myself. I don't regret going though b/c it was a great night out with my friend. And we had lots of good laughs. Love you Katie!

We ate at the Dodo... mmmmm. I of course had my turkey and swiss with the dipping bbq sauce. It so hit the spot and i slickered down ever last drop. Last minute, Katie's sister - Jenny came along with us. It was great to get to know her. We all had a blast...

horse and wagon

So, the kids and I were at the farm at Thanksgiving Point the other day and we were taking a wagon ride. I was explaining to Ashton that a looooong time ago people used to get around by horse and wagon because there were no cars then, etc....

So, with wide eyes - Ashton asked if that is how it was when i was younger?

OH BOY!!!

I was feeling pretty young still in my last year of my "20's" and now I feel REALLY old.

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

I can't believe it has been one year, to the day, that we packed up our things and moved across the country...back to Utah!! Crazy how fast time flies. We have been in our house 7 months now.

We often think back of our time in NYC/NJ and have very fond memories of all our experiences there and the friends that we left behind. Love and miss you guys!

But we are finally feeling settled in our new life here and we are loving so many things about being back. Our families, friends, our house, our yard, space, so many conveniences, Ashton's preschool, the mountains, southern UT, etc, etc... and Troy is loving his job here.

We really are blessed.

Life is good.
